The Howth house bought by solicitor Michael Lynn and his wife Bríd Murphy is back on the market after the receiver appointed by the High Court yesterday ordered its sale.

Glenlion House was bought by Mr Lynn and Ms Murphy for €5.5m.

The court has heard that Mr Lynn took out three or possibly four mortgages against it in the space of a month.

It is now on for sale through Lisney Estate Agents and Auctioneers with a guide price of €4.5m.

The sale had been postponed due to the High Court proceedings against Mr Lynn.

However, yesterday the High Court appointed Rory O'Farrell as receiver and gave him power to take possession of the house, insure it, secure it and sell it.

Mr O'Farrell cannot distribute the proceeds of the sale, pending directions from the court.

Lisney's expect to hold the auction in January.
