Dáil protest over cancer controversies

Around 80 people staged a protest outside the Dáil this afternoon over recent breast cancer care controversies.

The protest was organised by the National Women's Council of Ireland.

Addressing the rally, Anne Speed, SIPTU's National Campaigns' Organiser said it was time the Health Service Executive stopped treating women as numbers.

She also said transition strategies which support and maintain screening and care services must be put in place while new infrastructures are being constructed.
