Man dies after Limerick stabbing

A 25-year-old man is still being questioned in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man in Limerick.

A 25-year-old man is still being questioned in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man in Limerick.

The victim has been named locally as 45-year-old Stephen O'Grady who lived at Lenihan Avenue in Ballinacurra Weston.

Gardaí found him with serious injuries in a house in Lenihan Avenue in Prospect at 2am this morning.

He was taken to Limerick Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

A number of people were in the house at the time of the incident and the house has been sealed off for technical examination.

It is understood the incident is being treated as a domestic row, which led to a death.

Mr O'Grady was an ex-soldier who had served in the army at the barracks in Limerick for 21 years.
