One man has been killed and another man seriously injured in a road traffic accident in Co Limerick.
Gardaí are at the scene of the incident, which occurred at Beary's Cross on the N24.
The road is closed and diversions are in place. Motorists are asked to avoid the area if possible.
Separately, the main road between Gort and Ennis is closed following a multi-car crash near the village of Crusheen, Co Clare.
The accident happened just north of the village on the N17 shortly before 4pm.
There is no information currently on any injuries that may have been sustained by those involved in the pile up.
Motorists are being urged to avoid the area. Gardaí say there are likely to be long delays and detours.
