Couple marry in hotel under new lawFriday 16 November 2007 22.11
Ireland's first civil marriage ceremony outside an official registry office took place in Co Kerry today.
The ceremony was at the Cahernane Hotel in Killarney.
The civil marriage law was changed recently to give greater flexibility to couples.
The new guidelines state that the wedding venue must be open to the public and must take place in a fixed structure. This rules out beaches, mountain tops and marquees.
