A 35-year-old man has been shot dead in an apparent gang-related attack in Tallaght, Co Dublin.
The body of Sean McMahon was found in a house in the Donaghmore Avenue at around 12.20pm.
Mr McMahon is believed to have been living in the house in Tallaght with his partner and two children.
It is understood his partner left the house this morning while Mr McMahon was still in bed. A gunman entered the house through the back door and shot the victim in the head as he lay in bed.
Sean McMahon had been released from prison in the last year.
He was an associate of Brian Downes, who was one of two men shot dead in Walkinstown last month.
The scene is being preserved for a technical examination and the State Pathologist has been informed.
Gardaí are seeking two men who were seen acting suspiciously in the area between 9am and 10am.
One is described as 5"7' with a stocky build, rounded shoulders, wearing possibly a boiler suit, a black hoody and a scarf. He had blond/brown hair.
The second man was dressed similarly but was thinner.
A beige Volvo S80 (03-KE-2366) was found burned out on Belfry Green in Tallaght later in the afternoon. It was stolen on Capel Street on 22 October.
