Frank Fahey is to chair the Transport Committee, while Noel Treacy takes the chair of the new Committee on the Good Friday Agreement, which will be attended by Northern MPs.
Former Minister Mary O'Rourke becomes chairperson of the Committee on Children, while Niall Blaney, a former Independent who joined Fianna Fáil before the last election, will be co-chair of the British-Irish Inter-Parliamentary Body.
There are promotions for Peter Power, who takes over the Justice Committee, Michael Finneran, the new chair of the key Finance Committee, and John Cregan who takes over the Communications committee.
Independent TD Jackie Healy Rae will chair Social & Family Affairs, Willie Penrose of Labour takes Enterprise, and Green TD Paul Gogarty will chair the Committee on Education & Science.
Former Minister Michael Woods retains the plum job of chairing the Foreign Affairs Committee - his vice-chair will be former Ceann Comhairle Rory O'Hanlon.
A number of first time deputies have been given vice-chairs of committees, including Sean Connick, Dara Calleary and Cyprian Brady.
Only one or two Fianna Fáil TDs are expected to be left without a Government job carrying an extra salary when the final Committee positions are allocated.
At the moment, only 14 of the 78 Fianna Fáil TDs haven't been given some form of promotion, and it is understood 12 or 13 of them will be given the job of Committee convenor, which is worth an extra €6,000 per year.
The Committee Chairpersons announced today get an extra allowance of €19,058 while Vice-Chairs get €9,747.
There are 12 Fianna Fáil members of the Cabinet, as well as 19 Ministers of State and the Ceann Comhairle, 16 Oireachtas Committee Chairs, 13 Vice-Chairs, two members of the Oireachtas Commission, and a Deputy Government Chief Whip.
The only experienced TDs to be excluded are Ned O'Keeffe of Cork East, and Jim McDaid of Donegal North-East, both former Ministers.
