Debt is a major cause and consequence if ill health among women in Ireland, according to a new study.
The study was carried out by the Women's Health Council and the Money Advice and Budgeting Service.
Some 81% of women mentioned a health problem during their consultation with MABS advisors and almost 70% identified a link between their debt and health issues.
The study also showed that living on a low income was the most commonly identified contributory factor to debt.
