The leader of the Labour Party has said it will not form alliances with other political parties in the next election.

The leader of the Labour Party has said it will not form alliances with other political parties in the next election.

Speaking on RTÉ Radio's This Week Programme, Eamon Gilmore said he is building the Labour Party on an independent basis to win the maximum seats.

Mr Gilmore said the Labour Party needs to communicate directly to the voters to inform them about what the party stands for.
