Junior doctors at Dublin's Beaumont Hospital have been informed that the hospital will not be able to pay doctors for any overtime which exceeds 10 hours a week, due to budget difficulties.
The Irish Medical Organisation made the announcement this evening and a meeting between the hospital and the IMO is due to take place next week to discuss the issue.
Beaumont Hospital has said this evening that the development will not affect patient care.
Latest HSE figures show that Beaumont is around €16m over budget.
