Five candidates are seeking to become the next Chairperson of the Green Party.

The position became vacant when John Gormley was elected leader of the party in July.

The five are Senator Dan Boyle, Deputy Paul Gogarty, Dublin City Councillor Bronwyn Maher, Dr John Barry, the co-chair of the Green Party in Northern Ireland, and party member Phil Kearney.

Postal ballots will be sent out to members of the party next week, and have to be returned by Friday 19 October.
