Three people have been arrested in connection with the murder of 37-year-old Sharon Coughlan in Longford.
A 28-year-old man and a 29-year-old woman were detained at a housing estate on the outskirts of Longford town at around 11.20am this morning and another 19-year-old man was arrested in the Longford area this afternoon.
All three are being held at Longford Garda Station.
It is understood gardaí are carrying out a number of searches in the Longford town area and around the county as the investigation continues.
The body of Ms Coughlan, a mother of two, was found in a vacant house on Saturday night. Gardaí have confirmed that she died a result of asphyxiation.
