Former developer Tom Gilmartin has admitted to the Mahon Tribunal that he might be mistaken in details of his allegations against businessman Owen O'Callaghan.

But Mr Gilmartin insists that the substance of his claims of corruption involved in the Quarryvale development in west Dublin are correct.

Counsel for Owen O'Callaghan put it to Tom Gilmartin that he has embellished his story and that his memory is hopelessly scrambled.

Paul Sreenan SC highlighted differences in Mr Gilmartin's recollection about an alleged demand for £100,000 from Councillor Finbarr Hanrahan in Buswells Hotel in 1988.

In his original tribunal interview Mr Gilmartin did not mention this allegation or that Mr O'Callaghan asked him afterwards 'did he tap you?'

Mr Gilmartin said he was just giving the gist of this story at the time.
