Morning Ireland: Paul Rowe of Educate Together reacts to Archbishop Diarmuid Martin's remarks on the future of schools in Ireland
The Minister for Education, Mary Hanafin, has defended the Government's record on the provision of school places.
Speaking on RTÉ Radio's Morning Ireland, Minister Hannafin said a new process to establish schools has been in place since 2002.
In the last two years, of the 34 new schools set up, 24 of them were inter-denominational or non-denominational.
She said there was a change in Ireland's schools to reflect Irish society.
