At least 25 people have been arrested in the Danish capital, Copenhagen, after police clashed with hundreds of young protesters overnight.

Police used tear gas to disperse the rioters in the Noerrebro district of the city.

It is reported that the protesters threw stones and set cars on fire during a demonstration to mark six months since the closure of a local youth centre.

The centre was demolished after squatters were evicted from the building last March.

The closure sparked clashes between police and hundreds of young people.
