A new study has revealed that the number of teenagers being treated for drug and alcohol abuse in Northern Ireland has more than trebled in the last two years.

A new study has revealed that the number of teenagers being treated for drug and alcohol abuse in Northern Ireland has more than trebled in the last two years.

The report shows that specialist services are treating 847 under-18s suffering from the misuse of illegal drugs and alcohol.

The figures, complied in March this year had spiraled from 271 adolescents in treatment at the same stage in 2005.
