The National Lottery has said the winner of the ¤16m Lotto jackpot can claim the prize at its office from 9.15am tomorrow onwards.

It said it has not received any contact from the winner yet.

This morning it announced that the single winning ticket was bought in Cork city two days ago.

Over two million people played Lotto in the run up to last night's record draw but there was only one ticket with the winning numbers.

The ¤4 quickpick was bought at the Centra Shop on Close Road, Farranree, on the north side of the city on Friday.

It is not known if the ticket was purchased by an individual buyer or by a syndicate.

The selling agent will get a flat fee of ¤15,000, which is taxable.

Barry Twomey from the Centra said it was the first-time since taking over the shop that he had a big Lotto winner.

He also said he believed the buyer was local because the shop did not have much passing trade.

The National Lottery says it has not been contacted by the holder of the winning ticket yet.

Spokeswoman Paula McEvoy said the National Lottery will provide Lotto winners with practical help, if they want it.

After 11 rollovers, last night's Lotto jackpot was the biggest-ever in the history of the National Lottery in Ireland.

The numbers drawn were 04, 13, 29, 32, 35, 37. The bonus number was 20.
