The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, and the Deputy First Minister of Northern Ireland, Martin McGuinness, are to meet in Dublin tomorrow.
The meeting, the first since the re-establishment of the Northern Ireland Executive in May.
It follows Mr Ahern's recent talks with the First Minister, Dr Ian Paisley, in Farmleigh House in Dublin and at the Battle of the Boyne site.
A Government spokesman said tomorrow's meeting follows the very positive meetings of the North/South Ministerial Council and British-Irish Council last week.
He said the discussions would include the recent progress in Northern Ireland and the future development of the peace process and North/South co-operation.
