A software services provider announced today it is to create 750 jobs in Derry.

Stream International is one of the most advanced contact centre operations in Northern Ireland. It is currently based in the Ulster Science and Technology Park in Derry and intends to open new premises in the Waterside area of the city.

The company said it will recruit 450 people over the next couple of months after winning a substantial new contract.

A further 300 people will be recruited next year to cope with an expansion of work on the contract, meaning the current workforce will more than double.

Jeff Jennings, Stream's Managing Director, said he was delighted at the expansion.

The company was set up in Derry in 1996 and is now the second-largest employer in the city.
