US President George W Bush has offered new US support for the government of the Palestinian President, Mahmound Abbas.
US President George W Bush has offered new US support for the government of the Palestinian President, Mahmound Abbas.
He said the US would give $190m in aid to the Palestinian government this year and would convene an international meeting to restart peace talks with Israel.
President Bush said Palestinians could follow the vision of Mr Abbas and establish a state of their own in the West Bank and Gaza, or they could choose the extremist vision of Hamas.
