Six One News: Bethan Kilfoil reports that Communications consultant, Monica Leech has lost her libel action case against the media group
Communications consultant Monica Leech has lost her libel action against Independent Newspapers.
The jury in the High Court ruled against Ms Leech just before 6pm this evening.
Ms Leech had sued the Irish Independent over an article which repeated comments made about her on RTÉ Radio.
However the High Court jury said she had not been defamed by the article, which repeated lewd comments made about her on RTÉ Radio One's Live-line programme.
Ms Leech said she would appeal the decision to the Supreme Court.
