Gardaí are investigating the death of a man in a motorcycle accident last night in Gort, Co Galway.
The man has been named locally as 20-year-old Daniel Kelly, from Crowe Street in Gort.
Mr Kelly was killed when his motorcycle hit a traffic control barrier in Coole Park. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The barrier, which is located about 1km into the Coole Heritage Park, is closed at 7.30pm each evening. The accident occurred just before 10pm.
Garda forensic experts are continuing to examine the scene today.
His death brings the death toll on the Galway's roads inside the past 24 hours to three.
Two young men - 20-year-old Liam Loughlin, and 19-year-old Niall Greaney, both from Claregalway - died when the car they were travelling in crashed into a wall at Loughgeorge, 12km from Galway city early yesterday morning.
A third young man who was injured in the collision is still in a critical condition in hospital.
The driver of the car was arrested and questioned by gardaí at Mill Street Station.
He was later released without charge and a file is being sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
