Eight killed in Kurdish rebel attack

Seven soldiers and a Kurdish rebel were killed today when separatist militants attacked a military outpost in eastern Turkey.

Two rebels from the separatist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) rammed a stolen vehicle into a remote outpost manned by paramilitary troops in the province of Tunceli and detonated a grenade inside.

After the blast, rebels opened fire on the building with long-range assault rifles.
