Gardaí have confirmed that the 51-year-old Russian man found unconscious in the cell of Togher Garda Station in Cork last week has died.
A post mortem examination will be carried out tomorrow.
The man was arrested in the Victoria Cross Road area of Cork city on Friday following a report of criminal damage.
