A 23-year-old man has been before the district court in Killarney, Co Kerry charged in connection with the death last Sunday of James Brazier.
Gerard O'Riordan of Arbutus Grove, Killarney, was charged with assault causing harm to Mr Brazier.
James Brazier died at Kerry General Hospital at 5am last Sunday morning, just over two hours after gardaí were called to this house at Pinewood Estate in Killarney.
The 30-year-old had suffered several serious injuries after he had been attacked at the house.
Preliminary results of a post mortem examination on his body led investigating gardaí to treat his death as murder.
James Brazier was born in Killarney but had lived in England for many years before returning to Kerry a few years ago.
Gardaí have been piecing together his last movements, as well as seeking a motive for his killing.
Last night, Mr O'Riordan was brought before the local district court charged with assault causing harm to James Brazier.
He was granted free legal aid and remanded in custody to Cork Prison to appear before court again next Thursday.
