The crane manufacturing company has told employees today that ongoing industrial action at the company is having a serious effect on the company and its future.
In a circular to employees today, the company said that they are actively sourcing alternative manufacturing sources and that, to date, a substantial amount of work has been re-deployed to other companies.
They also state that recruitment has been cancelled.
There have been industrial relations difficulties at the company for some time, concerning pension entitlements and benefits.
Liebherr accused some SIPTU employees of a 'wildcat action' yesterday, stating that some SIPTU workers refused to co-operate with non-union workers.
They claim that this action has been reckless, and that they are seeking urgent clarification from SIPTU.
