Tests on Galway water supply for parasite

Medical scientists in Galway are continuing to investigate if water supplies to over 90,000 people in the county is contaminated by a parasite that causes stomach illness.

Laboratory tests are being carried out again today on human samples supplied by General Practitioners in the Moycullen, Tuam and Headford areas to find the cause of the outbreak of the stomach illness.

Environmental health officers are advising people to boil water before drinking it or using it for preparation.
