A 52-year-old man has appeared at Birr District Court charged with dangerous driving after the death of a woman in Kilcormac last week.
Noel Minogue, originally from Offaly but with an address in Germany, was arrested following the death of Jenny Melia in a road accident.
Ms Melia, 40, was struck by a car after she had dropped her children off at school in Kilcormac on 28 February.
Her husband was also seriously injured in the incident.
Mr Minogue was remanded on bail to appear again at a sitting of the district court in Birr on 13 April.
