Garda figures indicate that 411 people were stopped on the nation's roads for drink-driving offences during the seven day period from 26 February to 4 March 2007.
It is an increase of 16 compared to the previous week.
Since the introduction of random breath testing in July, there has been a massive increase in the number of motorists being caught for drink-driving.
Gardaí also said that the introduction of the Mandatory Alcohol Test contributed to a reduction in deaths on our roads in the latter part of 2006.
