There has been an earthquake off the coast of the Algarve in Portugal.
The earthquake, measuring 6.1 on the Richter Scale, prompted hundreds of people to evacuate buildings but no one was injured and no damage was caused.
It occurred at 10.36am some 160km east of Cape Saint Vincent.
The tremor was felt in the Portuguese capital, Lisbon, as well as in southern Spain and Morocco.
