Both the northbound and southbound routes in the Port Tunnel have reopened following a closure this morning due to a breakdown.

It is understood a car transporter broke down on the northbound tunnel at around 10.30am, causing both routes to be closed as a safety precaution.

The southbound tunnel had to be closed to allow access for the fire brigade.

The incident caused some traffic delays this morning.
