Commuters are facing average increases of almost 3% to rail fares from today.
Iarnród Éireann says the increase is needed to meet rising fuel and wage costs and to fund future investment in the rail network.
The fare increases will affect all Iarnród Éireann commuter and inter-city services, as well as DART services in Dublin.
