Diana crash was accident, report findsThursday 14 December 2006 22.01
A British police inquiry into the death of Diana, Princess of Wales, has concluded that the car crash in which she was fatally injured was an accident.
The princess died with her partner, Dodi Al Fayed, and their driver, Henri Paul, in a crash in Paris in 1997.
Dodi Al Fayed's father, Mohammed Al Fayed, has insisted that there was a conspiracy to kill the couple.
The inquiry has concluded that the princess was not pregnant, as had been alleged at the time, nor was she engaged to Mr Al Fayed.
The report states that the driver had been drinking before the crash, and had been speeding.
