Traffic on Dublin's M50 was disrupted this morning when a car overturned by the Lucan exit at around 6.20am.
Emergency services said a number of people had to be cut from the car.
Spilt oil from the crash was treated but gardaí were urging motorists to drive with extreme care.
The crash on the southbound carriageway just past the Ballymun exit was later cleared.
As a result of the congestion, commuter routes from Meath were extremely heavy.
N3 traffic was also affected as far back as Dunshaughlin through to Clonee dual carriageway onto the M50.
N2 southbound traffic was also impacted as commuters tried to avoid these routes. Traffic around Blanchardstown village was also affected.
