Gardaí made significant drug seizures in counties Laois, Cork and Dublin last night.
Gardaí from Abbeyleix in Co Laois arrested two men last night at a checkpoint set up under Operation Anvil.
Two men aged 24 and 21 approached a garda checkpoint at Knocknamoe, Abbeyleix, at 9.30pm and were arrested following the discovery of €14,000 in cash.
In a follow-up search of the area, gardaí discovered a quantity of cocaine which may have a potential street value of €70,000.
The two men were detained in Abbeyleix Garda Station and can be held for up to seven days under the Drug Trafficking Act.
At another Operation Anvil checkpoint, cannabis resin with a street value of €15,000 was seized by gardaí in Co Cork last night.
The drugs were recovered when a car was searched at Rathgoggin North, Charleville.
Two men, a 25-year-old and a 39-year-old, were arrested and are being questioned at Mallow Garda Station.
And in south Dublin, gardaí recovered cocaine which could have a street value of €77,000 during a planned search of a house in Ballybrack yesterday evening.
A small quantity of ecstasy tablets was also seized.
A man in his 20s is being detained at Shankill Garda Station under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act.
