Responding to a speech by the Fine Gael leader, Enda Kenny, Ms Hanafin said that it was yet another example of sound bites coming before sound policy.
She said: 'A small number of random, uncosted ideas does not amount to a comprehensive policy on education.'
'This Government has made huge strides in improving our education system.'
'Through increased investment and a strategic agenda for change we are promoting excellence at all levels.'
'By contrast, the report card for Fine Gael should read that they lack focus, application and are prone to copying the work of those possessing the qualities they lack. In short, FG must try harder.'
