A one day strike planned for today by staff at the Bank of Ireland has been postponed for a week, pending talks at the Labour Relations Commission.

A spokesperson for Amicus said it had been invited to talks at the LRC to discuss the union's row over pensions.

Amicus and the Irish Bank Officials' Association are in dispute with the bank over what unions claim is a move to introduce a less favourable pension scheme for new staff.
