The Cuban leader, Fidel Castro, has appeared on television for the first time in six weeks to quash rumours that he was dead.
The Cuban leader, Fidel Castro, has appeared on television for the first time in six weeks to quash rumours that he was dead.
The images showed him walking, talking on the telephone and reading Saturday's newspapers.
There have been reports that the 80-year-old had cancer; he underwent gastric surgery last July.
He described rumours of his death as ridiculous.
