The FBI has said it is investigating the possibility of a security breach at the Los Alamos National Laboratory in New Mexico - the US's leading nuclear weapons facility.
An FBI spokesperson said the investigation had been launched after the authorities found material during a drugs raid close to the facility. They believe the material might have come from the lab.
The spokesperson did not disclose what type of material was found but said it was significant enough to merit carrying out a full investigation.
