15 dead in Uzbekistan air crash

Fifteen people have been killed following a plane crash in the Uzbek capital of Tashkent.

An Uzbekistan Airways civilian plane was participating in a military training flight when it crashed while trying to make an emergency landing.

Two crew members and 13 soldiers died when small Antonov-2 aircraft crashed near an airfield in the Urta-Chirchik district.

It is understood weather conditions were poor at the time of the incident.

The government of Uzbekistan has set up a special commission to investigate the disaster.
