The High Court has reserved judgment in a dispute between a woman and her estranged husband over the fate of three frozen embryos.

The High Court has reserved judgment in a dispute between a woman and her estranged husband over the fate of three frozen embryos.

The couple at the centre of the case had a child after infertility treatment. Three extra embryos were frozen before they split up.

The woman wants to have the embryos implanted in her womb.

But her husband says he does not want any more children. The court has already ruled that he did not give consent for the implantation of the extra embryos.

The High Court now has to decide what the constitutional status of the embryos is.
