Four men have been arrested by gardaí as part of an on-going operation into a series of shooting incidents in the Moyross area of Limerick.

The arrests were made this morning as part of a Operation Anvil by a special garda unit operating in the area.

Two rifles, two sawn-off shotguns and a quantity of ammunition were seized.

The four men, aged between 18 and 41, are being held at a number of unnamed stations in the city and can be held for questioning for up to two days.
