The author of a report into matters relating to the Leas Cross nursing home has issued a statement reiterating that he has finished his review.
The report was submitted to the Health Service Executive by Professor Desmond O'Neill last May, but has not yet been published.
The HSE said it will be in contact with Professor O'Neill over the coming days to discuss the report.
It said its legal advice remained that the report was not publishable in its current form until certain individuals criticised in it are given an opportunity to respond.
Earlier this week, the Minister for Health Mary Harney said there were very strong legal issues which needed to be addressed before publication.
She said it was the wish of the Government that the report be made public, and she said she wanted to see the HSE and Professor O'Neill work together on the matter.
Leas Cross in north Dublin closed last year following questions raised in an RTÉ Primetime Investigates programme on the standard of care at the nursing home.
