Support for both Fianna Fáil and Fine Gael has fallen by two points, according to an opinion poll to be published tomorrow.
The Red C poll in The Sunday Business Post shows that Fine Gael and Labour have retained their lead over the current coalition parties.
Since the last Red C poll at the end of July, a quiet August has been followed by a busy September, with all the parties holding pre-Dáil think-ins, as well as the change of leadership in the PDs.
It was conducted before the controversy over payments to the Taoiseach erupted on Thursday.
Fianna Fáil is down two points to 33%, its lowest rating in a year.
Fine Gael is also down two, to 25, although potential coalition partner Labour is up two, to 14.
Sinn Féin has lost two points to 8, while the Greens are unchanged at 7.
Under new management, the PDs have doubled their support - from 2% to 4%, while Independents and others are also up two, to nine.
With Labour and the PDs both gaining two points from their larger partners, support for the two alternative governments remains unchanged, with Fine Gael and Labour at 39% and Fianna Fáil and the PDs at 37.
