The Taoiseach, Bertie Ahern, has said arrangements for talks next month with the Northern Ireland parties will be finalised in the coming days.
The talks will come ahead of the 24 November deadline for the restoration of devolved government.
The talks are due to talk place in St Andrews in Scotland, although the dates have not yet been confirmed.
The Taoiseach was speaking in Cork following a meeting with the British Prime Minister, Tony Blair, in Chequers this morning.
Speaking on RTÉ Radio, the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dermot Ahern, said the timetable set by the two governments was fixed.
