Jobless rose by 600 in August

New figures from the Central Statistics Office say that the number of people on the Live Register rose by 600 in August, to 158,200.

This compares with a decrease of 2,400 in July.

The CSO says that the unemployment rate in August stood at 4.4%, unchanged from the previous month.
