The Governor of California has said he has reached a historic agreement with the Democratic Party on proposed new legislation to tackle global warming.
The Governor of California, Arnold Schwarzenegger, has said he has reached a historic agreement with the Democratic Party on proposed new legislation to tackle global warming.
The proposed bill would require major industries to reduce their emissions of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases by an estimated 25% by the year 2020.
The bill is to be put to a vote today before sessions close ahead of the elections to be held in November.
