The Government has announced a programme aimed at supporting children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

The Government has announced a programme aimed at supporting children from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Under the Prevention and Early Intervention Programme, €36 million will be invested in support programmes for young people, mainly in Dublin.

The programme will be run for three years initially.

It has been part funded by the Atlantic Philanthrophies charity.
