The ashes of a man, which had gone missing after being sent on a Ryanair flight from Cork to London, will be returned to his wife today.

Eileen Grufferty had travelled from Australia back to Ireland with an urn containing the ashes of her husband, Jack.

Some of the ashes were scattered in a ceremony at Croagh Patrick and it had been intended to bury the remainder in Epsom, Surrey.

However, the urn went missing on a Ryanair flight to Gatwick.

Ryanair confirmed today that the ashes had now been found and were being returned to Mrs Grufferty in Surrey.
