Morning Ireland: Fiona Ford reports on the reaction to Fidel Castro's temporary yielding of power in Cuba
Cuba's national television has carried a new statement from Fidel Castro saying he is in a stable condition and in good spirits following surgery.
Yesterday President Castro, who will be 80 later this month, handed over power on a temporary basis to his brother Raul.
He is recovering after being treated last week for intestinal bleeding.
